2020, the gift that keeps on giving...

I was really excited about 2020. After a pretty darn good year, I was going to take advantage of the momentum from 2019, increase the number of my wine classes, work more hours at various venues, and travel. Yeah...JD and I were supposed to spend a few weeks in England and France this year, but that was not to be.

What a disaster 2020 has turned out to be. Global pandemic. Global shutdown. Families and friends lost. Businesses closed. So much anger, misinformation, fatigue.

I'm in awe of my friends and colleagues who managed to reimagine their business models and find a way to support themselves through the year. I'm sad for those who had to close their doors. And I'm exhausted from being angry at the hypocrisy of those who claim to be good, kind people, but who won't stay home or wear a mask in public because it's inconvenient.

I hope to be able to reboot my wine classes sometime in 2021. Maybe by Spring, if enough of us have received the vaccine, and are allowed to meet at indoor venues again.

Meanwhile - and I'm taking it as a sign that 2021 will bring in positive energy and great happiness - I've been asked to present an abridged Wine 101 virtual tasting for Women's March SLO on January 16th!

Here's the link: https://womensmarchslo.com/happy-hour-power-play/?mc_cid=6fd7acba11&mc_eid=ad17eb6ccf

It's free and it's fun! Hope to see you there!

Wishing you and yours a safe, healthy and happy New Year! Cheers!
