Wining with Paso Garagiste...Sneak Peek!

It's Garagiste Season!

And no, we don't mean you should put on your orange vest, pull the 12 gauge off the wall and tiptoe into the hills of Paso like Elmer Fudd.

You should, however, be sure to hightail it down to the first Garagiste mini-event of 2012 which will be taking place this week at 15c Wine Bar in Templeton, CA. Here's the full press release:

Paso Robles, CA - The Garagiste Festival, dedicated to promoting artisan winemakers, and 15c Wine Shop & Bar, one of the Central Coast's most influential tasting rooms, are joining forces to present garagiste tasting mini-events during Paso Robles Wine Festival weekend. The events will feature the wines of small-lot local artisan producers, including AmByth Estate, Alta Colina, Clesi, Giornata and Hensen. A portion of the proceeds will go to Garagiste Events, a non-profit 15C Exteriordedicated to furthering the education of future winemakers and those training for employment within the wine industry.

"Thanks in part to the Garagiste Festival, the profile of these remarkable artisan winemakers is growing," said Ali Rush Carscaden, proprietor of 15c.  "At 15c, we have long supported these 'gems' of the wine world and are pleased to join with the Garagiste Festival to inaugurate its 2012 mini-event series with these special tastings, and to provide consumers with a unique opportunity to meet these passionate winemakers and their wines."
15c's Garagiste Festival Satellite Tasting Room will be open during Paso's Wine Festival weekend May 18th - May 19th from 11:00 am - 9:00 pm. A fifteen-dollar door fee provides consumers with tastings of two wines each from five different producers who poured at 2011's Garagiste Festival.  In addition, a special 'Meet the Small Production Winemakers' event will take place on Saturday, May 19th from 5:30-7:30pm.

The garagiste tastings at 15c are the first in a series of Garagiste Festival mini-events to be held in tasting rooms, wine shops and art galleries from Paso Robles to Southern California leading up to the second annual Garagiste Festival which is scheduled for November 10th at Windfall Farm  s in Paso Robles.

"The Garagiste Festival is pleased to join with Ali and her team to further raise awareness of the amazing quality of these unique, small lot winemakers," said Garagiste Festival Co-Founder 15C LogoStewart McLennan. "Known locally for it's industry-friendly atmosphere and extensive wine selections, 15c has become the go-to resource for consumers wishing to expand their palate - and a home-away-from-home for many of the area's best garagiste winemakers."

The Garagiste Festival showcases high-quality, cutting-edge, small production wineries that produce fewer than 1,200 cases a year. 2011's sold-out festival at Windfall Farms presented 45 outstanding artisan winemakers to over 700 passionate wine consumers and members of the trade, raising the profiles of many of the winemakers nationally for the first time. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale for the 2012 festival in mid June.
